Police on Wednesday cracked the bombing case that had taken place on Tuesday evening near Peerbaba Chhak in Sambalpur. Three persons were injured and a bike was damaged in the bomb explosion.

Police arrested a youth identified as Abhilash Mishra of Sunaripada in Khetarajpur. Police said the bombing was a fallout of a past enmity.
According to police, a youth had attacked Abhilash’s father earlier, and he was seething with anger to take revenge. He hurled a bomb at the youth as an act of revenge, police said.   

Abhilash is an ITI student and reportedly made the bomb on his own which he hurled from a flyover. 

Northern range IG, Himanshu Lal said, "There is only one accused in this case. Police arrested him and he has been identified as Abhilash Mishra. He had prepared the bomb. His only purpose was to take revenge on a person named Sushil.  This has happened due to criminal intention. The incident has no communal angle.”

Sambalpur SP Mukesh Bhamoo said, "We have seized some material from his house and he had technical knowledge about bomb-making. He used a bicycle in the crime. We have seized his bicycle and cell phone. The phone will be sent to the forensic lab for data recovery. The incident was the outcome of personal rivalry.”
