The autopsy report of the Russian engineer, who was found dead in a ship at the anchorage of Paradip port in Jagatsinghpur district, revealed that there was an injury mark on his left forehead.

There were also injury marks on his left eyebrow and eye, the post-mortem report of Sergy Milyakov, 51, the Chief Engineer of the ship, revealed.

However, it is yet to be ascertained if the injury mark was caused after Sergy fell down in the ship due to a heart attack or if there is some other mystery behind it. More details will be known only after the arrival of viscera report that has been sent to Bhubaneswar for examination, reports said.

When contacted, PL Haranadh, chairman of Paradip Port Authority had earlier stated that it was too early to say anything in the case and that a probe was on.

Similarly, Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal has stated that the Crime Branch would probe the case if needed.

Sergy was the chief engineer on the ship that had come from Chittagong port in Bangladesh and was supposed to go to Mumbai.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is the third death of a Russian national in Odisha. Earlier, two Russian tourists, including a lawmaker and critic of Putin, were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Rayagada.

On the other hand, another Russian citizen was reported to be missing from Bhubaneswar railway station. However, he was later picked up by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
