The final post-mortem report of Russian engineer Sergy Milyakov revealed that cardiac arrest caused his death. Sergy (51) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a cargo ship named MV AL Danah at the anchorage of Paradip port in Jagatsinghpur district on January 3.  

As per the findings of the post-mortem report, Sergy, who was the chief engineer of the ship, fell down after suffering cardiac arrest and sustained injuries. Initial report revealed that he had injury mark on his left forehead.

As per reports, MV AL Danah with 23 crew members arrived at Paradip from Chittagong port in Bangladesh for iron ore. It was supposed to go to Mumbai. 

The news of Sergy’s death came at a time when an inquiry was going on into the mysterious death of two Russian nationals in Rayagada district in the State.

Pavel Antov, a lawmaker and a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, had allegedly died after falling from the window of a hotel in Rayagada, on December 24. Two days earlier on December 22, his friend Vladimir Bidenov was found dead inside a room of the same hotel.

An investigation by the Crime Branch of Odisha police is underway into the case.
