Rural Development chief engineer in Vigilance net; raids on at multiple places in Odisha

Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted simultaneous raids on the property of the Chief Engineer of the Rural Development Department in Odisha's Balasore on the charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The sleuths raided several places in connection with the allegation against the accused. The accused has been identified as NV Harihar Rao, posted as Chief Engineer at the Rural Development Department in Balasore.

Sleuths of the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous raids at Rao’s office, residence, his parents’ house. The raids were also conducted at his properties in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur.

Till last reports came in, the raids were underway and the calculation of the total value of his movable, and immovable properties was still to be ascertained.
