A day after launching a scathing attack on the Odisha government alleging its involvement in fake education certificate racket, the Congress again trained its gun at the ruling BJD and said the party is involved in all job scams in the State.

Coming down heavily on the conch party, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said the Naveen Patnaik government is playing with the future of the meritorious students.

The reaction from the Congress legislator came after Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) department raided Vanik Institute on charges of alleged tax evasion.

"Students taking admission in the institute are being assured of government jobs. Vanik CMD Subrat Chhatoi is a member of BJD IT cell. BJD is involved in all fake job cases in State. The issue will be raised in the Assembly,” Saluja said.

The grand old party also demanded to bring all the people involved in the scam under the purview of the investigation.

BJP MLA Nauri Nayak said, “The GST department must have taken inputs from various sources before carrying out the raids. There cannot be any political motive behind it.”

Commenting on the development, ruling BJD MLA, Bhagirathi Sethi feigned ignorance about the ownership of the institute.

“I don’t know whether Vanik Institute is owned by Subrat Chhatoi or not. May it be during elections or post elections, the raids are on. Those who found guilty will be punished,” Sethi said.
