A swift action by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Sunday saved a woman passenger from slipping under a moving train at Cuttack Railway Station. The passenger was trying to board a train but slipped after losing her balance.

The RPF personnel, identified as Wajid Ali, has been earning praise from all quarters for his quick act and giving a new lease of life to the woman. The passenger has been identified as Pratima Nayak of Bhadrak.

The incident occurred while Pratima was boarding the Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi train at platform No.1 at Cuttack Railway Station. 

In the CCTV footage of the incident, the woman passenger can be seen struggling to board the train with her bags. Due to the heavy rush and her bags, the woman finds it difficult to enter the train. All of a sudden, the train starts moving making it even harder for her to get inside the train coach.

She attempts to hold the door handle but loses balance and is about to fall inside the gap between the platform and the train when the RPF personnel appears from nowhere and saves her.

The RPF immediately holds her by her waist and pulls her out to safety, thereby averting a major mishap. Wajid Ali’s extraordinary display of courage and presence of mind has been receiving praise from all quarters.
