The resentment that was allegedly brewing among some disgruntled workers of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) found an outlet during the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme in Kendrapara on Wednesday. During the programme some workers hurled eggs targeting the son of Patkura legislator, Sabitri Agarwal.

However, the eggs landed on some college students and party workers sitting in the front rows. They expressed their displeasure over the incident.

As per reports, the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme was held on the premises of Loknath College in Korua under Garadpur block. When the programme was nearing the conclusion, some BJD workers, allegedly unhappy over some issues, threw eggs at the MLA’s son, but the eggs missed the target and landed on others sitting close to the dais.

The workers who hurled eggs managed to flee the spot, sources said.

However, replying to the questions from the media, BJD leader Sanjay Agarwal allegedly avoided the issue and said no such incident happened at the venue. “I am not aware of such an incident. When I arrived at the venue, guests were being welcomed. Who hurled eggs? Who has seen it?”

Later, local police started an investigation into the matter.
