RI found hanging in Tehsil office in Odisha, kin allege harassment by superiors

The body of a Revenue Inspector (RI) was found hanging at the Tehsil office in Cuttack’s Nischintakoili on Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased RI has been identified as Sanjay Das working at Tarat section under the Nischintakoili block.

As per reports, the body was found hanging from a ceiling fan on the upper floor of the Tehsil office.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy.

However, Sanjay’s kin alleged that he was being harassed by his superiors.

"My father’s health was deteriorating due to stress at the office. He was being transferred against his will. Transfer and harassment at the office is the reason behind his death," alleged Sanjay’s daughter, Subhalaxmi.

While suicide is yet to be confirmed, the police have launched a probe to ascertain the actual reason for his death.
