Rape bid on minor girl in Kendrapara, locals hand over accused to cops

A man was recently held for an alleged rape bid on a minor girl at Sanabada-Gopalpur village under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district. The accused has been identified as Bapuji Sethi, a resident of nearby Diapari village. 

Locals handed over Sethi to Rajnagar police following the incident.

As per reports, the accused Sethi allegedly tried to rape the minor girl. However, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the girl after hearing her screams. Subsequently, they also overpowered Sethi and later handed him over to the police.

The family members of the girl have lodged a complaint at Rajnagar police station alleging rape attempt by Sethi.

Rajnagar police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.

However, no comments from the police could be obtained in this regard.
