Lord Ram’s birth anniversary Ram Navami is being celebrated with religious fervor across Odisha on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees are thronging various temples across the State on the auspicious occasion.

A large number of devotees gathered at different shrines in villages and cities in the State to offer prayers to Lord Rama. Sri Ram temple in Bhubaneswar also witnessed a huge rush of devotees on the occasion.

As per reports, special rituals will be performed at Srimandir in Puri on the occasion of holy Ram Navami today. 

The pilgrim town is all set to celebrate Sahi Jata, a unique tradition linked to Jagannath culture. All preparations for the Sahi Jata have been put in place and the artistes are fully ready with rehearsals at ‘Akhadas’. Naga, Parshuram, and Ravana dances will be performed during the night. 

The ‘Chirot’ ritual of chariot woods will start on the occasion of Ram Navami.
 
“It’s a holy day and special occasion which is being celebrated with religious fervour at Puri Srimandir. All the devotees will get the opportunity to witness all the lilas of Lord Rama,” said a servitor.

“All the lilas of Lord Rama will be performed during Sahi Jata in Puri. Devotees will witness Lord Ram’s lila during the occasion,” said a devotee.

Different places in Odisha wore festive looks as pandals have been erected at different places on the occasion.
