In a tragic incident, a devotee from Rajasthan died on the occasion of Snana Purnima in Puri. The deceased has been identified as Ambalal.

As per initial reports, the devotee from Rajasthan reportedly fell sick while he had gone to Puri Srimandir for the darshan of the deities. The devotee was spotted by the security personnel who also gave him Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and then rushed to the district headquarters hospital in an ambulance after his condition deteriorated.

The devotee was later declared dead by the doctors at the district headquarters hospital. Sources said the deceased had gone to the Srimandir with his family for darshan on the auspicious occasion. The exact cause behind the death of the devotee is yet to be ascertained.

The devotee had some health complications and even complained of pain in chest following which he was initially given treatment at the first aid centre near Singhadwara, said sources. It is suspected that the devotee might have died due to cardiac arrest.
