Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is currently in Odisha as part of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, will hold a padayatra in Jharsuguda today.

He is scheduled to meet party supporters and address a public rally before leaving for Chhattisgarh. Hundreds of his supporters including women and children queued up on the roadside to get a glance of him.

Rahul, standing on an open red-colour jeep, greeted all and shook hands with everyone who rushed near the jeep breaking the security cordon. Several supporters were seen running alongside the moving jeep to ensure that they were a part of the Yatra.

Speaking to OTV, senior Congress leader Sura Routray said, “He is in Western Odisha, but the entire state is feeling his presence. More than 2000 Congress workers have come from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and other parts of the state to attend the yatra.”

“The best thing about Rahul ji is that he is meeting everyone on his way beyond caste, creed, religion, and ethnicity. He is getting so much love from the people. His craze is evident that he will sweep off 2024 General Elections,” Routray stated.

“The BJD is panicking as people are tired of the unemployment, price rise and crime against women. More than 13000 girls are missing in Odisha. Around 7000 girls have been raped and killed under BJD’s rule. Furthermore, the state is being gripped by drugs and alcohol. So, there is a need to bring Congress,” he added.

On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi targeted the Odisha government and alleged that a BJD-BJP partnership was running the state. Taking a jibe at Modi and RSS, Rahul stated that the PM during his visit to Sambalpur addressed the Odisha CM as his ‘mitra’.

However, the BJD maintained that Rahul’s visit would have no impact on the party.
