Based on his complaint, the Dean of the medical college has lodged a complaint at Penthakata Marine police station. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated into the ragging allegation.

As per the allegation of the first-year student, some students of the second year forcibly shaved off his beard and misbehaved with him.

Puri SDPO stated that they have launched an investigation into the incident.

However, no comments could be obtained from the college authorities over the matter.

Notably, a first-year student of Jadavpur University died under mysterious circumstances after falling from the balcony of a students’ hostel on August 10. It is suspected that he became a victim of ragging.
