Speaking on the Srimandir Parikrama project, Mohapatra said, "The Srimandir Parikrama project work is going on in full speed.  Work on the outer parikrama, inner parikrama and the ring road is underway. We expect work to end in the next 3 months and the general public will be able to use it. A lot of conveniences like toilets, washrooms and places for meditation are being created under this project. Devotees can go all around the temple and to ensure that traffic movement is not affected, a stone-clad barrier has also been erected. Once it is done, devotees can go around the temple and catch the glimpse of the temple from various angles. Battery- powered vehicles will operate so that devotees can reach the temple directly and return to their parking place conveniently."

The Chief Secretary also visited the renovated Puri Swargadwara crematorium.

"I reviewed the works at Swargadwara & how the crematorium is being operated. All the processes including the token system, arrangement of priests & firewood are being carried out in a transparent manner. As many as 28 platforms have been created for cremation of bodies," Mohapatra said.
