A special train will soon roll between the two pilgrim cities of Puri and Ayodhya. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday informed this on the sidelines of an ROB foundation stone laying ceremony in Puri. 

“Modi ji has been laying emphasis that development in Odisha should take place at a fast pace. As a part of this, today two decisions have been taken. The work on the long-awaited Puri-Konark railway line will start soon. This apart, a special train service between Puri and Ayodhya will start in July or August month,” informed the Union Minister. 

The Union Minister attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Siddhamahaveer Railway Over Bridge at Saradhabali in Puri. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari also joined the ceremony through video conference.

On this occasion, Gadkari said he was happy that the foundation stone-laying or inauguration ceremonies of 28 National Highways were being done today. He also made an announcement that a 6-kilometre-long road connecting Satapada of Krushnaprasad block in Puri district and Janhikuda will soon be constructed. 

Among others, BJP national Spokesperson Sambit Patra and officials of the Road Transport and Highways attended the event.
