Professor Sabita Pradhan becomes first Vice Chancellor of Odia University

Professor Sabita Pradhan on Friday was appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Odia University located at Satyabadi in Puri.

The Governor of Odisha and Chancellor, Professor Ganeshi Lal appointed Pradhan as the VC for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes office as such or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

She is currently posted at Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan, as a professor in the Department of Odia. Linguistics & Stylistics, Modern Odia Literature are her areas of expertise.

The academic session of Odia University is all set to start with a temporary office as well as temporary staff from this year.

The State Higher Education Department has asked the Utkalamani Gopabandhu Smruti (Degree) Mahavidyalaya, Sakhigopal in Puri district to deploy non-teaching staff in the varsity.
