Polasara NAC
The long-standing demand to upgrade Polasara Notified Area Council (NAC) to a municipality has taken its first concrete step forward, as official procedures have now been initiated by the concerned authorities, official sources said on Tuesday.
According to reliable sources, the Ganjam District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) has formally issued a letter to the Executive Officer of Polasara NAC, signalling the commencement of the process. The letter, sent in an official capacity, requests detailed information in a prescribed format as part of the groundwork necessary for the proposed upgradation.
This move is seen as a significant development for the rapidly growing town of Polasara, which has witnessed steady urbanization and infrastructural growth over the past few years.
Upgrading to a municipality would grant the town enhanced administrative powers, increased funding, and improved access to urban development schemes, benefiting residents in terms of civic amenities and governance.
The letter specifically outlines that the NAC must provide relevant demographic, financial, and infrastructural data as per government norms. Once this information is reviewed and deemed satisfactory, further steps will be taken to formalize the upgradation.
Officials believe this is an important milestone in Polasara’s urban journey, and if all requirements are met, the NAC could soon be notified as a municipality—marking a new chapter in its administrative and civic development.
