Deputy Chief Minister Kanaka Bardhan Singh Deo
The BJP government in Odisha has initiated process to produce 392.8 megawatt electricity from windmills, informed Deputy Chief Minister Kanaka Bardhan Singh Deo in the the State Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
While replying to a question from his younger brother and BJD MLA Kalikesh Singh Deo about the progress of electricity generation using windmills, the deputy CM said, “The previous government has not taken any steps in this regard. During the tenure of Mohan Majhi government, planning has already been made to fulfill the aim of the Prime Minister. Effort has been started to produce 392.8 megawatt electricity from the windmills.”
In his question, Kalikesh said that the Union Government has set a target to produce 43.33 megawatt electricity from the windmills by 2030 in Odisha.
“Around 11.5 megawatt electricity was produced from the windmills in 2022-23. How the target of the Union Government will be fulfilled?” asked Kalikesh.
The question and answer between two cousin brothers in Odisha Assembly broke the House into laughter on Wednesday with several members of the Assembly took the matter in a lighter vein and enjoyed it up to the hilt.
Notably, Kanaka Bardhan Singh Deo is the king of Patnagarh in Bolangir district and Ananga Udaya Singh Deo is his uncle. Kalikesh is the son of Ananga Udaya.
