Principal, lecturer under scanner for admitting students in ‘ghost college’ in Odisha
Serious shortcomings have come to the fore after an investigation report was submitted by Titilagarh Sub Collector regarding a ‘ghost college’ to the Odisha Higher Education Department. The role of Principal Jyotsnarani Sahu and lecturer Kishore Sahu of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das Junior College at Belagaon is under scanner.
As per the allegations, both the principal and the lecturer persuaded the students to take admissions in Hrusikesh Priyabati Institute of Information and Technology Higher Secondary School, Siletpara.
After admissions, the students were allegedly asked to attend classes at Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das Junior College, Belagaon. After a report was telecast by OTV, the district administration swung into action and submitted a report to the higher education department after conducting an investigation into the sensitive matter.
Now it remains to be seen what action will be taken on the matter as the investigation report has pointed out several irregularities.
