Presumed Dead, Labourer Dumped on Roadside in Jharsuguda

A labourer is now battling for his life at a hospital after he was allegedly dumped on the road near Badimal on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border by some unknown persons following a mishap at a mill.

As per initial reports, the labourer, who hails from outside the state, was thrown on the road suspecting him to be dead. The labourer has sustained injuries after electrocution at a mill following a short circuit.

A group of locals spotted the labourer lying in an unconscious condition on the roadside. Later, they rescued him and admitted him to a hospital.

On getting information, police reached the spot and later shifted the injured labourer to the district headquarters hospital. The condition of the labourer is stated to be critical.

Additional SP said, “M. Ahmed sustained injuries in electric shock. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital. We are yet to receive any formal complaint still, our investigation is on.”
