President Droupdi Murmu will arrive in her home state Odisha this evening, her second visit this month. 

The President is scheduled to grace the Boita Bandana Utsav which is to be organised by the Paradip Port Authority on November 27 at Paradip.

According to sources, President Mumru will arrive at Bhubaneswar and proceed to Raj Bhavan before visiting Paradip.

She will grace the Boita Bandana ceremony at Paradip and virtually inaugurate a Multi-Model Logistic Park as well as lay the foundation stones for a new reservoir and water treatment plant for Port Township and next-gen vessel traffic management and information system. The President will also interact with the members of the fishing community.

Ahead of the visit of the president, preparations are underway in full swing and security arrangements have tightened in Paradip. 

The security forces are conducting a mock drill with an army chopper at the helipad in Gopabadhu Stadium, where President Murmu is scheduled to land. 

“Ahead of the president’s visit, the police department has conducted a briefing and rehearsal programme. All the forces and officers were briefed about their duties for the president’s visit. Five commandant rank officers along with 13 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officers and about 30 platoons of different forces have been appointed for the security protocol. A final security rehearsal will be done today before the visit of the President,” said Asish Kumar Singh, Inspector-General (IG) of police.
