President of India Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar today afternoon, on a three-day visit to the state. During her stay, Murmu is scheduled to attend several programmes including the 10th convocation of the National Law University in Cuttack. 

Today, the President will interact with a group of medical students sponsored by the Atut-Bandhan family and lay the foundation stone for a new building block of Raj Bhawan. 

On Wednesday, she will attend several programmes in Cuttack. While she will grace the valedictory function of 75th year celebrations of the Orissa High Court, she will also address the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital and grace the 10th convocation of the National Law University. 

On the last day of her visit, she will interact with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Raj Bhawan. On the same day, she will launch the Prajapita Brahma Kumari’s this year theme ‘The Year of positive Change’ and lay the foundation stone for its Light House Complex at Dasabatia, Tomando, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. 

Keeping the President’s visit in view, the Commissionerate Police has made tight security arrangements in the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The final rehearsal of the President’s carcade was also conducted from the Biju Patnaik International Airport to the Raj Bhawan on Monday. 

According to DCP Prateek Singh, a total of 36 platoons of police force, including 12 additional DCPs, 25 ACPs, 40 inspectors and 120 sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors will be deployed during the President’s visit.
