Elaborate arrangements have been made at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to her hometown on November 20. After becoming the President, it will be her second visit to her hometown.
The President is scheduled to flag off the Tata Nagar-Badampahar MEMU train and hence Badampahar Railway Station has been decorated beautifully. Senior Railway officials are inspecting the spot on a regular basis to ensure that everything is in order.
Murmu will also take part in a cultural programme at SLS School in Pahadpur. She will also inaugurate the Skill Development Center built by L&T company. The statues of Murmu’s two sons and husband have been decked up with attractive colours ahead of her visit.
Moreover, as per the schedule, Murmu will interact with local people at PWD Dak-Bungalow in Mahuldiha in the evening. The Dak-Bungalow has been decorated attractively for the purpose. A new transformer is being set to avoid power outage during the programme.
“It’s a matter of great pleasure that honourable President is visiting Mayurbhanj. She will attend a programme of All Odisha Santali Association in Baripada on November 20. She will have the night halt at Rairangpur. On the following day, she will visit Pahadpur at 8.35 am and attend many programmes there,” said SLS School Committee President Muna Pratihari.
“A Skill Development Center will be inaugurated by the President on November 21. The youth of the area can take free training in the center to make them self-reliant,” said Adivasi Morcha President Ramchandra Hansda.
