Police vehicle falls into drain after hitting cobbler, cyclist in Cuttack; 'driver was drunk'

At least two persons, including a cobbler and a cyclist, were injured after being hit by a police vehicle at Biju Patnaik square in Cuttack on Friday.

It is alleged that the driver of the police vehicle was in an inebriated condition.

After hitting the two persons, the police vehicle veered off the road and slipped into a drain. Following the incident, the driver of the police vehicle was rescued by other staff of the local police station.

No comments could be obtained from senior police officials in connection with the incident.
