Police stop Bolangir youth's cremation midway, send body for post-mortem

In an unusual incident, the body of a youth, who died under mysterious circumstances, was seized by police from the cremation ground in Beherensilet village under Kantabanjhi police limit in Bolangir district on Tuesday.

As per reports, Binod Chinagun died at home under mysterious circumstances. However, instead of informing about the incident to the police, the family members carried the body to the cremation ground.

Upon receiving the information about it, Kantabanjhi police reached the spot immediately and seized the body from the cremation ground for conducting a post-mortem and further investigation into the matter.

Further investigation into the incident is currently underway. However, the exact reason behind the youth’s death is yet to be ascertained.

“We carried the body to the cremation ground in the morning following Binod’s death. However, Kantabanjhi police reached the spot and seized the body for conducting post-mortem,” said the deceased’s father Deba Chinagun.

However, no reaction in this regard could be obtained from the police.
