Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh has ordered all the police stations to arrest and put hardcore criminals behind bars before Dussehra. Moreover, Singh has also ordered all police officials to intensify patrolling in the Capital City ahead of the Durga Puja.

The Commissionerate Police has also alerted all the IICs to take necessary steps to make the Capital City crime-free during Puja. As part of the special drive, the Commissionerate Police is carrying out midnight raids in the city to nab hardcore criminals. A meticulous plan has been prepared to nab all the criminals in the city who have non-bailable warrants issued against them. As there is a possibility of an increase in snatching cases during Puja, residents in the city have demanded to intensify patrolling.

“We are fully alert for Durga Puja. As per the order of the Commissioner and DCP, we have intensified night patrolling. We are deploying more number of vehicles and staff for patrolling to curb crime in the city,” said Rout.
