Tension ran high at VSS Nagar market area in Bhubaneswar after a police constable and a BSF Assistant Commandant reportedly scuffled over bike parking at the market on Sunday morning.
A purported video of the entire incident has also surfaced.
According to sources, the BSF personnel, identified as Sangram Biswal, parked his bike in the market. When the police constable opposed to it, an altercation broke out between the duo.
The incident took ugly turn when they end up thrashing each other over the trivial matter. The constable sustained injuries in the fight and has been admitted to Capital hospital, sources added.
Meanwhile, a complaint in this regard has been lodged with the Saheed Nagar police.
The police have detained Biswal for questioning and admitted the constable to the hospital for treatment following interrogation at the police station.
Notably, the VSS Nagar market witnesses heavy rush daily. And, to control traffic movement, the local police outpost deploys a constable in the market for crowd management.
