The Post Master General (PMG) wrote to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) urging the premier investigating agency to probe into the fake certificate racket.

Taking the matter of securing jobs in the Postal Department by providing fake certificates seriously, the PMG sought the CBI’s probe. Since the fake certificate racket has roots in several States, he asked the CBI to probe the case.

The PMG’s director on Monday confirmed the letter being shot off to the CBI.

Meanwhile, six applicants for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevak were found to have submitted fake certificates in Sambalpur district.

The SP said the Sambalpur fake certificate incident has Bolangir link.

Notably, Sambalpur postal division invited applications for Gramin Dak Sevak posts. It is alleged that of those applied, six have furnished fake certificates.

Both the Postal and Education departments are presently grappling with fake certificate allegations.

Earlier in the day, Elementary Education Director Jyoti Ranjan Mishra informed that the BEOs and the DEOs have been asked to submit detailed reports. They will submit their reports in a day or two. Action will be taken against the fake teachers on the basis of the reports.
