PM Narendra Modi likely to visit Odisha in June to commemorate BJP's one year of governance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Odisha next month as part of the celebrations commemorating the anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership in the state.

This announcement was made by Odisha Revenue Minister, Suresh Pujari. Minister Pujari further informed that PM Modi is likely to be accompanied by the Home Minister Amit Shah and several members of the Union Cabinet during his visit to the state.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is presently coordinating with the Prime Minister's Office to ensure a seamless visit.

According to Minister Pujari, unlike a typical anniversary celebration, the state government intends to focus on a 'responsible governance programme'. 

"This initiative will take place from June-12-19 targeting direct outreach to one crore families in Odisha through a performance report card," said Minister Pujari.

"BJP made 21 promises during their campaign in the 2024 General Elections. While 11 of these promises have been accomplished within one year, efforts are ongoing to meet the remaining 10 promises within the next year," he added.

Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah's planned two-day visit to Odisha on May 10 was cancelled due to Operation Sindoor and national security matters. Shah was slated to attend several high-profile events in Puri, Sambalpur, and Bhubaneswar.
