PM Modi, Amit Shah to attend DGP Conference in Odisha in November

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the All India Conference of DGPs and IGPs 2024, to be held for the first time in Odisha from November 29 to December 1.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the All India Conference of Director Generals/ Inspector Generals of Police 2024 which will be held in Odisha, informed BJP state vice president Golak Mohapatra.

The three-day Conference will be starting from November 29 and a formal announcement in this regard will be made by the Odisha government soon.

Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also scheduled to attend the crucial conference.

This will be the first time that the Conference will be held in Odisha.

Sources said that deliberations are likely to be held on futuristic themes in policing and security related to the country apart from cybercrime, technology in policing, counter-terrorism challenges, left-wing extremism, prison reforms and others.

Earlier, Odisha DGP YB Khurania had told ANI that the DG and IG conference will be held on November 29, 30 and December 1 for the first time in Bhubaneswar.

DGPs of all the states and Union territories, and generals of all the security forces will attend the conference. Discussion on important topics related to national security and internal security will be done. The state is providing all the logistics assistance. Similarly, the state police and Commissionerate police are fully geared to make all the security arrangements, said Khurania.
