Plus 2 girl student among 4 dead in separate accidents in Odisha

A Plus 2 first year girl student riding pillion on a scooter on her way to college died after being hit by a bus on National Highway 55 in Dhenkanal district on Monday.

The mishap occurred near Baghlunda on National Highway 55 passing through Dhenkanal-Angul. The deceased has been identified as Ipshita Boral. Her paternal uncle, who was riding the scooter to drop her at the college, was critically injured in the mishap.

As per sources, the duo was shifted to the district headquarters hospital soon after the mishap. However, the doctors at the hospital pronounced the girl dead. 

Tension erupted in the area following the mishap as students blocked the NH 55 in front of the college protesting the death.

In another mishap, three persons were after an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a pick up van on Baripada-Deuli road near Sinadhua Chhak. The drivers of the two vehicles were critically injured in the mishap.
