Plus 3 student of Utkal University found dead in hostel room in Bhubaneswar

A Plus 3, 2nd-year student of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, was found dead in his hostel room under mysterious circumstances early this morning. The deceased has been identified as Tapas Ranjan Nayak.

Sources reported that Nayak was a student of the university’s Philosophy Department and was residing in the Madhusudhan Hostel of the university. On Saturday night, he reportedly went to bed as usual but was found dead this morning.

Police Involvement and Body Recovery

Subsequently, his roommates informed the hostel authorities, who then contacted the police. Upon reaching the spot, police recovered the body and shifted it to Capital Hospital for further examination.

Reports indicated that along with the deceased’s roommates, his friends and associates were called upon by authorities this morning for initial inquiries.

Statements from Friends and Roommates

As of the latest reports, Nayak's friends stated that he was in good health last night and had engaging conversations with them. They also mentioned that there was nothing unusual about his behavior, a detail confirmed by his roommates.

Current Status of the Investigation

As a result, police are currently treating the case as a suspicious death and are searching for clues or evidence that may suggest foul play. However, so far, no additional comments have been made by the authorities, and no arrests have been reported.

The family of the deceased has been informed, and their arrival at Utkal University is awaited. Following this, a post-mortem examination of the deceased will be conducted.
