Pitambar Acharya
Senior advocate Pitambar Acharya was appointed the Advocate General of Odisha with immediate effect, informed the Law Department of Odisha.
“In pursuance of Clause (1) of the Article 165 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to appoint Sri Pitambar Acharya, Senior Advocate, High Court of Orissa to be the Advocate General for the State of Odisha with immediate effect,” read the notification issued on Friday by the Law Department of Odisha.
“I would like to thank Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I will be dutiful in keeping the dignity of the post the government has entrusted on me and ensuring how common people will get justice and participate in the legal process,” said Acharya.

“I will try to discharge the constitutional duty with due dignity and respect to the professional and integrity,” he added.
When asked how common people will get justice, he said, “After a long gap, people have empowered this government. This government is people-oriented. It will be careful in giving social, economic, and political justice to each and every person. On behalf of the government, I will try my level best to ensure a poor man should get legal facilities.”
