Woman BJD leader Sanjukta Mahala, who had earlier brought physical and mental harassment allegations against former minister Srikanta Sahu and lodged a complaint in this regard in April, lodged another complaint against the latter at Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

In her fresh complaint, the conch party leader accused the former minister of engaging anti-socials to harass her.

Citing threat to her life, Mahala also demanded police protection. Besides, Mahala said that she will approach Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik if denied justice.

Commenting on allegations levelled by her family members, Mahala said she does not have any relationship with her family for the last seven years and Sahu is using them as pawns.

“He (Sahu) was in a relationship with me for the last nine years. He mentally and physically tortured me. Then he ditched me. He is even giving me life threats. He has also engaged anti-socials against me. There is a threat to my life and I seek protection,” Mahala said.

“I will wait for the actions that will be taken based on my FIR. I will approach our party supremo if denied justice,” she added.

No comments from Srikanta Sahu could be obtained over Mahala’s allegations.
