Odisha government has decided that all the beneficiaries of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) in the State will receive pension in cash from June-2023 onwards.

As per the new order by the State government, all beneficiaries under MBPY will receive their cash amount on 15th of every month (Jana Seva Diwas) at disbursement places as before.

According to Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Ashok Panda, “The old and disabled pensioners, who can’t move to disbursement places, will receive pensions at their doorsteps. Elected representatives in various Gram Panchayats will help in disbursing the allowances to the beneficiaries.”

“Earlier, elderly and disabled persons were getting doorstep cash delivery of their pensions. However, the system changed and accordingly pensions were disbursed in Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. The earlier system has been restored. Now, the pensioners under MBPY will get their pensions in cash mode,” said Minister Panda.
