Tension gripped Sikharchandi Vihar in Bhubaneswar after a ' Mo Bus' hit a man while he was crossing the road on Sunday evening. Following the incident, local people rushed to the spot and vented their ire on the bus. 

While the identity of the injured person is yet to be ascertained, he was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital. 

According to sources, the victim was going somewhere. As he was crossing the road, the bus hit him, leaving him seriously injured. Hearing his cries, the local people came to his rescue and rushed him to Capital Hospital. Later, the angry people vandalised the bus.

They also caught hold of the driver who was trying to escape from the spot after the accident. 

Due to the accident, traffic on the road was disrupted with vehicles remaining stranded on both sides of the road, causing massive traffic congestion on the stretch from KIIT square to Nandankanan. 

On being informed, a team from the Infocity police station reached the spot and managed to pacify the angry locals.

“The victim is undergoing treatment and our people are in the hospital looking after him. The driver has been detained. We request people to call off the roadblock. We are taking all the necessary steps,” said Mahendra Kumar Sahoo Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of Infocity police station.
