Pahalgam Terror Attack: NIA team in Balasore to quiz slain Odisha tourist Prashant Satpathy’s wife

In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday arrived in Balasore. The central investigative agency is set to interrogate the wife of Prashant Satapathy, who tragically lost his life in the deadly attack.

According to official sources, a three-member NIA team will be conducting a detailed inquiry with Prashant’s wife, Priyadarshini, to gather crucial information related to the incident. The questioning is expected to shed light on the circumstances leading up to the attack, as investigators attempt to piece together the events that resulted in the tragic loss of lives.

Prashant Satpathy, whose untimely death has left his family and the community in deep shock, was one of the victims of the brutal Pahalgam terror attack. The attack has drawn nationwide condemnation, prompting authorities to intensify the investigation in hopes of uncovering the masterminds behind the horrific act.

Officials from the NIA stated that questioning family members and close associates of the victims is a necessary step in gaining further clarity on any potential threats, communications, or unusual activities that may have occurred prior to the attack. 

Prashant’s wife, who has been grappling with the devastating loss of her husband, will be providing key insights that may assist investigators in understanding the broader context of the incident.

“It is now almost 3 hours since the NIA team officials reached our house. They are asking questions regarding the terror attack from my daughter-in-law, who was also present on the spot when my son was shot dead by terrorists,” said deceased Prashant’s mother.

A relative said, “It is an irreparable loss for the family as Prashant was looking after the family. A team of officials has come and they are asking for information regarding the incident.”
