Ahead of polling in Odisha on May 13, cash worth more than Rs 2 crores was reportedly seized from a flex print media house in Bhubaneswar during a raid by the Income Tax Department on Thursday.

As per reports, the raid by the IT Department is currently underway on one Jain media house at Budheswari Colony of the Capital City. The raid has been going on for the last three days at the media house owned by one Ranjit Jain.

As per sources, flex print of as many as five leaders of a particular political party was underway at the media house during the time of the raid. The IT Department suspects Hawala corruption in connection with the seizure of the huge cash.

Officials of the IT Department are also checking money receipts, cash books and other documents during the raid. The officials have not yet got any clue about the advanced amount paid for the printing order. Any link of political leaders with the seized cash amount is also being traced.

The Income Tax team has reportedly asked for an account of the seized amount.
