OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda awarded Utkal Ratna Samman

Jagi Mangat Panda, the Managing Director (MD) of Odisha Television Limited (OTV) was awarded the prestigious Utkal Ratna Samman on Friday.

While Panda could not attend the programme in person, OTV’s Rourkela bureau head, Pawan Tiwary received the award on her behalf.

However, she joined the programme in virtual mode. Addressing the programme, Panda said, “I am really sad that I could not join the event physically for other prior commitments. I am happy to know that CANVAS has done many things successfully for Rourkela. I am really proud to have been awarded Utkal Ratna Samman.”

Apart from Panda, One Rupee-clinic fame doctor Shankar Ramchandani was awarded Utkal Gourav Samman.

The award was instituted by CANVAS, Rourkela, which felicitates eminent personalities each year on Rourkela Day (March 3) for their contribution to society.

Convenor of Rourkela CANVAS, Suresh Pradhan said, “The primary purpose of organizing Rourkela Divas is to make the people living in other places, to remember their beloved city at least once a year. The city of Rourkela was founded today, so we are celebrating March 3 as Rourkela Divas.”

“This year we have awarded media personality Jagi Mangat Panda with Utkal Ratna Samman. The event was organised after a gap of two years because of Covid restrictions,” Pradhan added.
