BDO walks 4km to remote village after woman delivers baby on road in Gajapati
In an unfortunate incident, a woman recently delivered a baby in the middle of a road when she was being carried to the hospital in a sling due to the lack of a motorable road at Gubel village, a remote area in Gajapati district.
Following a report by OTV about the plight of the woman, the Mohana BDO and the Executive Engineer of the Rural Development Department reached Gubel village after trekking a four-kilometre-long rocky and ghat road to take stock of the situation.
The BDO reportedly discussed with the villagers about their problems and assured them of the construction of a road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in their area as soon as possible.
As per reports, the pregnant woman complained of labour pain on Thursday. Left with no option, her family members carried her to the hospital in a sling.
