Corruption in OSSSC Recruitment, Aspirants stage protest
Alleging corruption in recruitment for various Group-C posts, scores of aspirants on Tuesday staged a demonstration and gheraoed the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) office in Bhubaneswar.
Holding placards, the aspirants staged a demonstration seeking justice. They alleged that several students, who had performed miserably in the PEO examinations, found place in the merit list of the Combined Examination Group-C results.
Earlier, the aspirants alleged that written examinations for the recruitment of posts like Forester, Forest Guard, and Livestock Inspector posts were being sold in Odisha.
“The results have been declared by OSSSC. But till now, we have no marks after normalisation. No investigation has been conducted by OSSSC. We want Odisha government to take action and demand cancellation of the forester and other exams,” said a protester.
In the previous exam, a candidate had scored 7 out of 180 in the PEO examination. However, he managed to score 100 out of 150 marks in the Forest Guard written examination.
“How is it possible that a candidate who scored negative marks scored 100 out of 150 by studying in four months? Intentionally, the OSSC is not releasing the score card and giving alibi of percentile. We are fighting for our rights. The government has changed but the officials at OSSSC are not being changed,” said another protester.
Another protestor said, “Many non-deserving candidates are featuring in merit list; where will the deserving candidates go if irregularities continue in such recruitments?”
No reactions could be received from OSSSC authorities in this regard.
