At a time when there is a lot of hue and cry over the OSSC JE (Civil) exam question paper leak incident, scores of aspirants of ULB Accountant examination on Sunday staged a demonstration alleging question paper leak.

The aspirants created ruckus and alleged that the question paper of the recruitment exam was leaked after they found the question papers seal being tampered.

Though the aspirants brought the matter to the notice of the staff at the examination centre at Bhadrak autonomous college, they could not get a satisfactory answer. Later, they came out of the examination hall and staged a demonstration.

“The seal of the question paper was broken in all the halls. When we raised objections and wanted to leave the venue, we were not allowed. We did not want to appear the exam as already the seal of the question paper was broken. Instead of wasting time inside the hall, we wanted to go out,” said Radharani Sahoo, an aspirant.

Sahoo said that the aspirants have the right to raise objections and they want to know why the question paper seal was opened.

Another aspirant, Prabhat Panigrahy said, “I reached the exam centre much before time and seal of maximum question paper was opened. The authorities told that they received it that way.”

Mitanjali Das, another aspirant said, “We got the question paper 10 minutes late. Usually, the question paper is opened in presence of aspirants but no such thing was followed. For this, we suspect that the question paper was leaked. When we brought the matter to the notice of authorities, we were not allowed to leave the venue.”

Das demanded cancellation of the examination as there is no transparency.

Till the last report came in, senior district administration officials and police had reached the spot and held talks with the aspirants.

When asked, Sub Collector Manoj Patra said, “There was a slight delay in distributing question papers. The exam started at 10.15 am. We did a preliminary enquiry into the question paper leak allegations and found out that the allegations are baseless.”

“The OSSC had sent the question papers. We received the papers at 9.35 am. Later, they were distributed. Some students in a particular room complained to the invigilator that the seal of the packet has been tampered with. Then they said they wouldn’t sit for the exam. The other candidates gave their exams,” said the Principal of Bhadrak Autonomous College, Dr Subodh Mishra.
