The chorus against the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) question paper leak intensified further as hundred of job aspirants took out a massive rally and staged a protest in front of Balasore Collector and Superintendent of Police’s offices on Monday demanding a CBI probe into the irregularities.

The job aspirants took out the rally from Ajimabad in the district and staged a road blockade at Station Chhak demanding disclosure of names of the 55 examinees who have been served show-cause notices by the commission.

Holding ‘Say No To Corruption’ banners and placards, the aspirant shouted anti-government slogans and demanded necessary action against the erring officials of the commission.

“We have been regularly appearing in various recruitment examinations conducted by the OSSC. Despite performing well in the examination, we are not getting jobs due to massive corruption. If such corruption persists, we students will be left with no option other than committing suicide,” an agitating aspirant alleged.

Another aspirant said, “I appeared in the accountant examination at the government ITI centre yesterday. To my utter surprise, I noticed that the question papers were not seal-packed. We believe a CBI probe can give justice to us. Besides, we also demand OSSC chairman Abhay’s resignation.”

No comments from OSSC or district administration could be obtained over the job aspirants’ allegations.

Notably, the Balasore Police, on July 27, claimed to have solved the JE (civil) main examination question paper leak case and revealed that the leak happened from a printing press outside Odisha.

The Balasore Police has arrested 17 persons including the mastermind of the case. While nine persons were apprehended from Digha in West Bengal, eight others were nabbed from Bihar.
