Orissa High Court gets 2 new Judges, Chief Justice Subhasis Talapatra administers oath of office

The Collegium of the Supreme Court had on August 17 recommended the names of advocate Sibo Shankar Mishra and judicial officer Ananda Chandra Behera for appointment as judges of the Orissa High Court.

The two new judges of Orissa High Court, advocate Sibo Sankar Mishra and judicial officer Ananda Chandra Behera, were administered the oath of office by Chief Justice Subhasis Talapatra on Tuesday.

While advocate Sibo Sankar Mishra has a standing of 30 years at the Bar and specialises in civil, criminal and service law, judicial officer Ananda Chandra Behera has served as a judicial officer in various capacities in Odisha.

The Collegium of the Supreme Court had on August 17 recommended the names of advocate Sibo Shankar Mishra and judicial officer Ananda Chandra Behera for appointment as judges of the Orissa High Court.

The Collegium in its resolution published in the Supreme Court website had mentioned that the government gave good inputs about advocate Mishra and judicial officer Behera.

Notably, the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues had made the recommendations for advocate Mishra and judicial officer Behera on January 17, 2023.
