Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi took a dig at the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after a BDO was reprimanded following ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans during a ruling party programme in his constituency.

According to Panigrahi, the Block Development Officer (BDO) was pulled up after some people shouted the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan during the programme. He further alleged that charges have been framed against him following the development.

Panigrahi further alleged that BJD is spending Rs 6 crore for false propaganda over various social media platforms. He also said that ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans will be uttered all over Odisha in the near future. “There will be a huge change across Odisha very soon. Green wave will be converted to orange wave in the State in near future,” said Panigrahi.

The Gopalpur MLA alleged that though Naveen Niwas is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s private property, some new buildings in the name of the Chief Minister’s office have been constructed there. He questioned the amount of money spent on the construction of those buildings.

Panigrahi further questioned the amount of expenditure on the construction of Sankha Bhawan and the source of the money. He also expressed doubts about the transparency in Rs 4,200 crore spending on the Srimandir Parikrama project.

“BJD is doing a farce by bringing 10,000 people to Puri every day and extracting an oath from them to vote for the party. Earlier it was happening in villages ahead of the elections. Now BJD has adopted the same strategy ahead of the General Elections,” said Panigrahi.

“‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan will be uttered across Odisha in the near future. Orange Tsunami is going to take over the green wave soon,” he added.

No reaction was received from the BJD.
