After successfully conducting a strike at terror camps in Pakistan in a special operation code-named ‘Operation Sindoor’, security has been significantly heightened across the country, with major transit points under tight surveillance.

Odisha’s Bhubaneswar Railway Station has come under a high-security blanket as part of the intensified vigilance efforts ahead of the special civil defence mock drill to be conducted on Wednesday.

Armed personnel of the security forces are patrolling the premises with AK-47 rifles, closely monitoring every movement.

Alongside them, sniffer dogs are being deployed to conduct thorough checks of passengers, luggage, and sensitive areas of the station. No corner is being left unchecked as authorities aim to prevent any possible security breach.

Public announcements are being made regularly via loudspeakers, urging citizens to remain alert and vigilant. People have been requested to inform security personnel immediately if they notice any suspicious person or activity.

In addition, passengers have been strongly advised not to touch any unclaimed or suspicious items and to promptly report such findings to the Government Railway Police (GRP) or Railway Protection Force (RPF).

The heightened alert is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the public in the wake of the recent developments, with authorities leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to maintain law and order.

“Every day we are conducting flag march and urging passengers to alert police personnel if they come across any suspicious person or object at station. Along with weapons and sniffer dog squad, we are carrying out special drive to keep vigil,” said a senior police official.
