A bus helper died and 20 people were injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha on Wednesday night.

In the first mishap, a bus hit a truck from the front near Jamankira in Sambalpur district killing the helper and injuring 10 passengers.

As per reports, the bus was en route to Bhadrak from Sambalpur when it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on National Highway 53.

Following the mishap, fire services personnel and police reached the spot and sent the injured to Kuchinda Hospital from where they were later shifted to Burla Hospital for treatment.

A probe has been launched by the police in this connection.

In another accident, 10 persons were injured after the Bolero they were travelling in met with an accident near Singadapalli under Ganjam’s Khallikote block.

As per reports, the Bolero was heading towards Puri with some youths from Balimela in Malkangiri when the driver lost control of the steering wheel, ran over the road divider and turned turtle.

Out of the 10 injured, the health condition of eight persons was said to be critical who were admitted to MKCG hospital in Berhampur for treatment.
