On Friendship Day, President Droupadi Murmu’s childhood friend expresses desire to meet her

"We used to spend time together in the past and I wish I could meet her," said Tapti Mandal, the childhood friend of President of India Droupadi Murmu.

According to Mandal, she has not forgotten her friend with whom she had spent bulk of her childhood together. “I want to speak my heart out before Droupadi Murmu who is now the President of India,” said Mandal while recalling the time when she and President Murmu spent together.

Both President Droupadi Murmu and her childhood friend Tapti Mandal studied together at Uparbeda high school from standard one to five.

“Both of us used to spend a lot of time together in studies and playing. She is now holding the top post. I wish I could meet her, talk and relive our childhood,” Mandal said adding that President Murmu always used to recite poems for which she would ask the President whether she wanted to become a leader.
