Ollywood actor and director Sritam Das was reportedly injured while shooting for an upcoming Odia film in Cuttack on Wednesday night.
Das fractured his right hand after falling off a horse during the filming of a mythological movie at Mahanadi river bank in Cuttack.
He was rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar following the mishap. Doctors are expected to operate on his hand today.
Apart from a fractured hand, Das did not suffer injuries to any other parts of his body and is stated to be out of danger.
After the incident, Das' fans wished him a speedy recovery.
Das has acted in more than 60 Odia films. He started his career in Ollywood in 1995 with the film Sabitri. He has also worked as a storyteller, director and actor in ‘Tu Thaa Mu Jauchi Rusi’.
He joined the BJP in 2014 and was the party’s pick for its mayoral candidate for the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in 2022. However, he lost to BJD’s Subash Singh.
