Most of the youngsters aspire to improve their lives by working abroad and earn more money. In several cases, some of the youths land in all sorts of trouble on the foreign soil. In one such instance, a youth from Odisha's Ganjam district has now been held captive by a company's agent in Cambodia.

The youth has been identified as Dinabandhu Sahu of Biswanathpur under Rangeilunda block. As per initial reports, Sahu had come in contact with a Gujarat-based company and was supposed to join as a computer operator at a company in Vietnam.

The entire process was executed through the company's agent Binod Pathak who took Rs 1.5 lakh from Sahu. Sahu was first taken to Vietnam in flight and later was made to work in a company in Cambodia. It is alleged that Sahu was forced to work for SIM card and OTP-based cyber fraud.

When Sahu refused to do the job and wanted to return to India, he was held inside a room by the Company. The Company's agent told Sahu that he would be released only after his family paid 2500 USD.

Under such circumstances, Sahu has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union  Minister Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to initiate measures for his safe return.
